The Power Of The Warm Blood

By Dr. Jeff Padgett

As we move out of the Summer season into the Fall, there is a change, not only in the climate atmosphere, but also in nature, too. The reptilian species, in particular, must adapt and change, as they are cold-blooded animals.

The Bible speaks of our enemy, Satan, as a serpent. The serpent is an animal that is cold-blooded. In essence, they must get their warmth from an outside source of heat, such as the sun. There is no inner warmth that comes from within a serpent.

This provides an insight into the enemy and the nature of sin. In sin, there is no warmth or life. It’s simply cold. People who are under the influence of the enemy and of sin must get their warmth from external things, whether it be alcohol, drugs, the party life, promiscuity, or other such temptations of sin. Sin may feel warm on the outside, but on the inside, it’s just cold.

Don’t be fooled by the counterfeit warmth that temptation offers, in the name of joy. The truth is, it’s out to destroy you.

The best defense against the cold-bloodedness of Satan is to live by the true warmth that the fire of God brings. To be fired up from within, with many things that are unseen.

Don’t seek your joy from things that are physical. Instead, seek it in the Spirit. Walk in the Fruit of the Spirit. Doing so will cause you to live, rejoice, and overcome the temptation of sin.

If you keep the fire of God stirred up strong on the inside, the cold-blooded one cannot be victorious.

Hurricane Helene Update

Hurricane Helene hit us hard. Our historic Home lost many trees, and two staff residences were damaged by falling limbs.

Praise God, the generators made it, so we now have electricity and water.

Thankfully, all of our boys and staff are safe. We’re so grateful for your prayers and support.

If you’re in the area and can lend a hand with cleanup or donate, it would be a huge blessing.

We will continue to pray for everyone else affected by this storm. May God bless and protect us all.

Psalm 46:1: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
