Annual Chick-fil-A Vidalia Road Race To Benefit Paul Anderson Youth Home

The locally-owned franchise of the popular national chicken chain holds the annual Chick-fil-A Vidalia Road Race, taking place in Vidalia, Ga. Competition in races of three distances is offered to runners: a 1-mile run, a 5-kilometer, and a 10-kilometer. Proceeds from the event benefit Paul Anderson Youth Home.

Paul Anderson Golf Classic

The Paul Anderson Golf Classic tournament has been one of the Home’s largest annual fundraisers benefiting young men battling behavioral issues and mental health struggles – giving them hope for recovery and redemption. The location of the event is a strong attraction to golf enthusiasts in the Southeast. The River Golf Club, named a Top 5 New Course by Golf Digest, has established itself as one of the best course designs in the region since opening in 1998. Designed by internationally acclaimed golf course architect Jim Fazio, the North Augusta course is set on the banks of the Savannah River, across from downtown Augusta.

Annual Bike Ride

In 1961, Paul and Glenda embarked on a mission to spread the word about the urgent need to help these boys. Paul climbed on a bike and rode to Omaha, Nebraska, from Vidalia, Georgia. During that ride, Truett Cathy, founder of Chick-fil-A, became our very first contributor. Fast forward 17 years, and we’re still commemorating Paul’s ride.

Today, we honor Paul’s legacy by taking several boys on a life-changing summer bike adventure that helps them plant God’s Word in their hearts and introduce them to Jesus Christ. These young gentlemen are truly transformed by the experience, and their changed lives have the potential to impact countless others. Partner with us through the Paul Anderson Bike Ride and help make a real difference.

Paul Anderson Youth Home Honors Founders’ Memory and Heritage

The staff and boys of the Paul Anderson Youth Home take a break from their schoolwork and daily routine to honor the legacy of Olympic gold medalist weightlifter Paul Anderson and to celebrate his and Glenda’s obedience to our Heavenly Father’s calling on their lives, to work with young men who made poor decisions and began a downward spiral. Held each October to commemorate Paul’s birthday, Founders’ Day is centered on prayer, feats of strength, and group cooperation.

Giving Tuesday Celebration

Celebrate another year of saving boys and young men through the word of Christ with a gift to Paul Anderson Youth Home. During an incredible year-end gift campaign, you have the opportunity to impact the mission of providing giving second chances to young men in crisis. You can make a one-time gift or become a weekly, monthly, or quarterly contributor.

“And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.”
– Hebrews 13:16

Christmas at the Paul Anderson Youth Home

At Paul Anderson Youth Home, the endless distractions and commercialization of Christmas are put on pause. Instead, the Home celebrates the birth of Christ, slowing down the hectic nature of the season to allow a focus on its true meaning. Our boys energetically volunteer in the community during December and January. As we gather to celebrate this Christmas season, we ask everyone to keep an open ear and open heart to spread the word about the program and connect them with the families of young men struggling with behavioral problems and issues of discipline, anger, and depression. Through our spiritual counseling, character development, and accelerated learning program, we share Christ with these young men.
