It was a glorious fall evening on Oct. 23 as we celebrated the 60th anniversary of the Paul Anderson Youth Home. We held a wonderful event on our lawn, complete with the lighting of an Olympic torch, a ceremony to honor some of our distinguished graduates as “Gold Medalists for Life,” and a peaceful lighting of candles while Paul Anderson’s voice graced us in the background. Three generations of the Anderson family were there to participate, and the crowd could feel the love of this special group of people.
It was a festive evening in the dining hall afterward, with delicious hors d’oeuvres and a decadent cake ceremoniously cut by Glenda Anderson Leonard and Paula Anderson Schaefer. Our currently enrolled young men cheered them on as they cut the cake and relished in the sweetness of looking back on the last six decades of the valuable work of the Paul Anderson Youth Home. We sincerely thank everyone who attended and shared in this meaningful evening celebrating 60 years.
