The interim is definitely not “wasted time. Nothing even close to “wasted. There is a process going on in the “interim that one day we will not be able to find enough words for which to thank God that He did not bang the gavel of justice any sooner.

For the true believer, in joy or sorrow, in triumph or failure, in any and all circumstances of life, Soli Deo Gloria is the highest and truest response one can offer; for the Sovereign God is still on the throne of the universe no matter what man chooses to do.

Google the words “politics and religion and you will find enough advice to sink a battleship on why “polite conversation avoids these two topics at all costs! Strength for the Day has pretty much avoided politics (though that is never perfectly possible); our focus is religion; that is, religion as understood in its root meaning: “a binding back to God. It has always been our purpose for our readers to be more closely bound to the God of their salvation, to increase in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ; and if you do not know Him personally, to seek Him

There are many ways to express doubt, and thus every believer should daily assimilate David’s prayer as his or her own: “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. (Psalm 139: 23-24) As Lewis says we doubters need to go “all in.

Our problems, questions, and consternation with God’s providence and plans arise primarily from myopic vision in two areas: (1) We fail to see beyond this world to what lies “over Jordan and consequently view this world in that light (or rather, darkness); and (2) we fail to fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, to understand what God is about in our lives now.

When we are preparing to give our cat, Coco, a can of wet cat food, she, knowing what is coming, begins meowing like crazy. My wife was saying to her, “Hold your horses! Be patient! It’s coming. And not being able to interpret every meow, I said maybe she is saying, “Oh, thank you, thank, thank you! You take such good care of me.
