Today

By Chaplain (Col) Stephen W. Leonard, USA, Ret. “Today, you will be with Me in paradise.” Luke 23:43 Not many bystanders in the crowd that watched Jesus’ crucifixion could hear all the words Jesus spoke from the cross. Indeed, it takes all four accounts from the four »

After the Empty Tomb

By Chaplain (Col) Stephen W. Leonard, USA, Ret. “But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for He has risen, as He said. Come, see the place where He lay.” Matthew 28:5-6 »

We have all heard the words. Those four-letter words used in almost every movie in Hollywood. Of all the words that sicken me the most are the ones that use the Name of God in them or use the Name of Jesus in an improper manner. Such language comes from the realm of the kingdom of darkness. No one saw the stone being rolled away and Jesus walking out of the tomb, except angels.

Conscious of God?

By Chaplain (Col) Stephen W. Leonard, USA, Ret. “For this is a gracious thing, when, conscious of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly.” 1 Peter 2:19 “And without faith it is impossible to please God, for whoever would draw near to Him must believe that He is, and »

Trials Are Trying

By Chaplain (Col) Stephen W. Leonard, USA, Ret. “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad »

How Does Addiction Develop?

In the Old Testament Book of 1 Samuel, there is an account of young Samuel being called by God. This is a remarkable story that holds some valuable lessons for those who read it. Eli was a man of prayer and a priest who had two wicked sons of his own. The story is as relevant today as it was to those who lived it. Samuel grew up as a young boy who had been prayed for by his parents and was dedicated to the service of the Lord.
