By Stephen Leonard

“Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever! Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom He has redeemed from trouble and gathered in from the lands, from the East and from the West, from the North and from the South.” Psalm 107:1-3

There is a favorite chorus of mine that is simple and to the point. I think it expresses the thankfulness of our hearts this Thanksgiving.

There are certainly all the bounties of God’s love for us in the abundance of the Thanksgiving food we sit down to enjoy at family feasts. There is the gratefulness for family on this holiday. And there is the closeness of dear friends that warms our hearts. But the greatest gift to us is expressed in this simple chorus:

“Thank you, LORD, for saving my soul.
Thank you, LORD, for making me whole.
Thank you, LORD, for giving to me, thy great salvation so rich and free.”

May this be the fullest expression of our hearts this Thanksgiving Day as we sit down with others to a feast of abundance and enjoy the rich fellowship with others whom God has gifted to us.

Happy Thanksgiving from the Paul Anderson Youth Home family!
